Olympian Visit

On Monday 1st Febraury, Rhiannon Henry came to vist our school as we all took part in a sponsored fitness challenge.    Everyone from EYFS to Y6, including our staff, took part in the challeges.   We had to complete 60 seconds of Sptty Dogs, then 60 seconds of Leg Thrusts, followed by 60 seconds of Push Ups and finally 60 seconds of star jumps!   It was quite the challenge and there were lots of red and sweaty faces by the end of it.   Miss Rogers alomst lost her voice cheering everyone on throughout the afternooon.

After our Fit Challenges we came together for a special assembly, where we got to find out more about Rhiannon.  She told us about the events she's taken part in and what it is like to be visually impaired.  She is a real inspiration because although there are lots of things that she can't do because of her vision, she still represented our country at 3 paraolympic games, she even still holds some GB and England records.

Everyone had a brilliant afternoon, and we all feel very proud of our cihldren for the way the all took part - very determined and supportive of each other.   We'll be collecting in the sponsor money this week and spending our share on sports equipment that we can all use at playitmes.   Keep a look out for how much money we raised!

Thank you to those parents, carers, pupils and staff who were able to come and help us to build our Willow Structurs.  They look great!

TALK SHOP

This term we have launched Talk Shop.  In order to support our children's writing we want to encourage them to talk more; share ideas, make presentations, work confidently with a partner or in a small group.  In order to do this we have set up TALK SHOP which takes place every Friday morning.  In the sessions Y6 work with Y3, Y5 work with Y2 and Y4 work with Y1, this gives our children a new audience to speak with.  Your child will soon be bringing home Talk Shop challenges to share with you.
